Dogs are particularly sensitive creatures that need to be handled with the utmost care if you are going to get the best out of them. Dog training is a guaranteed way of ensuring that you and your dog co exist in harmony. Without the proper training, your dog can be a constant source of frustration to you. A puppy is limited in its concentration at a particular point in time and may be able to take in only one command. As the puppy grows up, its ability to learn and adapt to more than one command increases. Training your dog is actually a step by step process that requires a great deal of patience. Dogs are non-verbal creatures while human beings are verbal creatures. Dogs basically communicate what they feel by wagging their tails, moaning, whining, barking or biting. Humans need to learn how to tell their dogs what they want through both verbal and non verbal language. Some dogs have natural tracking skills and are trained to use these skills. Rescue dogs are dogs whose skill at finding people has been honed in intensive training sessions. Rescue dogs are usually trained and used by the Red Cross and the police force. Prong or pinch collar is a dog training device that helps to put a dog in check in order to prevent it from acting in a way that you don’t like. The prong collar consists of metal inks that fit together by connecting teeth which point upwards towards the dog’s neck. The prong collar basically pokes the dog into action. A head collar is a training tool that is used to curb the excesses of particularly difficult dogs. A head collar for dogs resembles halter that is used for horses. A head collar covers the face and mouth of a dog and halts it from undue biting or barking. A dog that barks all the time needs to be trained. You can train a dog that barks incessantly using a crate for punishment. Some dog owners choose to train their barking dogs with an electronic collar because it curbs their dog’s need to bark through the emission of electrical impulses. Dog training starts first with your ability to get and hold your dog’s attention. A dog that is unable to pay attention will make a poor candidate for training. Make sure that you have your dog’s full attention before you issue out any command.
